I am SO SO SO excited to introduce my new Studio Manager, Stephanie! Some of you may have met her already at your recent session with me. The rest of you will get to know her soon enough. Stephanie has been a dear friend of mine for a long time and she’s super passionate about photography-and I LOVE that! She’s been tagging along to almost all of my sessions recently and has been a HUGE help! Especially at my newborn sessions! Now I don’t know what I’d do without her!
In addition to assisting, Stephanie will be taking over my emails now handling all of the new inquiries. With her help we can now respond much quicker to everyone’s emails. I get so bogged down every day in just emails alone that now I can focus more on editing and designing! I’ve been a one woman team for so many years now doing all of this on my own, so this is a huge step for me and I’m thrilled to have Stephanie on board!

I don’t have time for a ton of sneak peeks, so I’m going to make one HUGE post on what I’ve been working on just this week! I had my mini session event, newborn and maternity sessions all in one week. And let me tell you, I’ve got the CUTEST clients ever!!! I’m so lucky!

I’m super excited to announce a very special June Mini Session Event!

Mini Sessions are a great way to get a few gorgeous images of your family and kids, or to mark a special milestone in your life, or maybe you’re a friend of a client who wants to get a small taste of what Melissa Lyn Photography is all about. In any case, it’s a great way to get some updated images of the special people in your life!

This special Mini Session Event will be held on Saturday, June 18th and Saturday, June 25th. There will be limited spots available and I will only be taking a few clients on each day.

The $150 includes:

- 20-30 minute session

- 10-15 images in a private online gallery

- (1) Mounted 11×14 print

- (2) Mounted 5×7 prints

***extra prints, albums and digital negatives can be purchased separately.

I just wanted to let everyone know that first, I am alive! I’ve been SUPER busy this week and I have lots to share. My husband has been very sick and I’ve had to put everything on the back burner for a bit. I am slowly catching up. For those of you who have contacted me (via email, phone) please know that I am not ignoring you! I will be getting back to you today. Currently, I am working on returning calls and emails that were received last Sunday. Sorry for the delay in responding to everyone, but you will be hearing from me soon!

I hope everyone’s 2011 is off to a great start! Mine has been a little hard due to my kids being sick for the past 2 months. But other than that I am SUPER excited about 2011! I’ve got lots planned for this new year so stay tuned!

First up: getting caught up on this poor little blog! I’ve been neglecting it for a while to focus on getting all  client holiday orders designed and in on time, talking care of sick babies, and taking some time off to spend with my family during the holidays. Since most of you have seen our holiday card I can FINALLY post this amazing shoot of my kids from last month for our card. Since I already posted the ones of Landon in his birthday post, these are mostly of Chloe. Chloe was 9 months here and Landon was almost 4 years old. Where did the time go??????

A lot of these will for sure be blown up huge to put around the house. Poor Chloe still does not have a canvas of her on our walls. Gotta change that soon!

Well 4 years ago today, I had a teeny, tiny baby boy. At only 4lbs. 4oz., Landon Thomas came into the world. Although he was small, he was a BIG fighter. He spent the first 3 weeks of his life in the NICU here at CHOC with a whole list of doctors and specialists. He was watched very closely during his first year, (and with a few problems) we were relieved that we made it through his first year. It was a tough one, but SO WORTH IT!!! Now at 4 years old, Landon is full of energy! He’s always laughing and telling me jokes (and he’s quite funny!) He introduces himself to new friends as Buzz Lightyear and loves to dress up as all sorts of superhero’s. He’s the BEST big brother to his little sister Chloe. And everyone that meets Landon (from his teachers to strangers) always tell me how they fall in love with him instantly. He’s just got this way about him that makes everyone smile.

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY LANDON!!! We LOVE you so much and you are the BEST little boy a mommy could ask for!!!! I LOVE YOU!!! xoxo

In  January I plan on cleaning out all of my external hard drives and will be purging all past sessions and will only keeping the more recent sessions. All previous sessions will be purged to make room for all current and future sessions for 2011. I just don’t have enough space to keep sessions from 1-3 years ago. So if you are a client that has either not placed your order from your session earlier this year or would like reprints, digital files, albums, ect. please contact me ASAP to get your gallery reactivated. For 5 days only, I will be waiving the regular $45 fee for reactivating your gallery. So take advantage of this offer to get your old galleries activated before it’s too late and your images are gone forever. Offer expires on December 31st.

I just wanted to remind all of my clients that unless there is an emergency situation or bad weather, we cannot reschedule sessions during the peak holiday season. If you have to reschedule a session originally set to be held anytime between Sept. 1-Dec. 15, the initial Creative fee will be forfeited and you will need to pay it again (with some exceptions).
